2018-2019 Global Cardboard Challenge
Inspired by Caine's Arcade, fifth graders participated in The Global Cardboard Challenge and created arcade games made out of cardboard and other recycled materials. Working in teams of 3-4, engineers had 60 minutes to draw and develop their idea and 2 hours to build their game. They used Apple Clips to make videos of their games, explaining how the idea of the game was developed, the rules of the game, a tutorial of how to play the game and their reflection on this engineering project. On November 9th, 3rd-5th graders got to enjoy the hard work and creativity of these engineers by playing the arcade, in the afternoon. Kinder also got to play some of the games during their STEM Lab time to help review force & motion!
