4th Grade
Coding & Drones
McKinley introduced drones this year! As these 4th grade coders continued to persevere and learn coding through CS First (in the Computer Lab) and with Dash & Dot robots (in the STEM Lab), programmers were able to further apply their coding skills to various drone challenges. Some days we were on location flying in the MPR, Library and even teacher's classrooms; other days, coders were problem solving with the drones in the STEM Lab. Click on the links on the right to watch each class's journey take flight! (You need an SGUSD account to access the videos on the right.)

Fourth graders continue their growth of coding in the Computer Lab using Google's CS First. In STEM Lab, we apply these concepts of block coding to program and debug Dash & Dot (our robots)! We also use Unplugged (non-technology) lessons to grasp the conceptual understanding of coding, using curriculum from CODE.org. |
